A Pirate’s Muse

Lighthouse

During that most tumultuous of times,

I forgot to mention how confused I was,

As you sailed with me; far out to sea…

The ship it seems, had splinters in the mast, its’ sails torn,

But you had faith; a compass and a dream,

While I, steering the rudder; navigated slowly toward safe port…

We tied to the dock, but stayed aboard,

Till finally, begrudgingly, you disembarked

“I’ll be back!” I called, over and over,

As the ship sailed off, my words grew faint

and the ship sailed on…

Through fierce storms and pirates; finally,

…the voyage was complete.

Time for ship to come back to shore,

Triumphantly, to rescue the princess…

Who waited…no more…
